I went back home last week to visit my family in Broken Arrow, OK. Daddy and I went from his house in Tulsa to Ft. Smith to see my 2 Aunts. On our way there we stopped at his house at Tenkiller lake.


It was 2pm and we were starving so we decided to make ham & cheese sandwiches. As luck would have it they didn’t have any bread. They are only at the lake house on weekends so bread and milk are some of the items that they stop and buy before they get there but of course, Daddy didn’t know that.

We put mayo, ham & cheese on ritz crackers. Daddy had a budweiser and I had a strawberry pop!! Now if that ain’t a redneck lunch! hehe We laughed about it all day long long.

As my husband would say, “you can take the girl out of Oklahoma….” lol I don’t think he has to worry about me making these tasty appetizers for our next dinner party.

Everyone thinks it is funny because I don’t ‘get’ a lot of the redneck jokes. It is because most of them ring true and I’m like “yeah, and why is that so funny”. Now they all know why : )
