My husband has finally convinced me to make candles full time and make a company out of it but I need some help with the company name!


I started making paraffin candles about 5 years ago. When I worked it, I did very good. I only did that for a summer, including doing a fundraiser for a church. I am easily discouraged and a perfectionist. I didn’t think the candles were up to my standard. Now, having said that, I will tell you that a lot of my customers were devoted yankee consumers and dropped them because I was cheaper and just as good. My candles burned evenly. When the container was empty, you could see thru the jar. The scent was so good that I had one burning and the pizza delivery girl smelled it outside and insisted on buying one. She was my first customer : )

The problem I had was the wick would mushroom to much for my liking. I was told by the wax and scent company that I was adding too much scent. I didn’t want to compromise my scent throw so I just stopped making candles except for us. I bought a candle warmer a few months ago and thought I would try wickless candles. The scent throw is good but I needed more of a challenge.

Last week I bought my first 50 pounds of soy wax. I made 4 scents today; Peach, Hershey’s chocolate, Cherry blossom and my best seller ever, Blueberry Muffins. The candles look perfect, they are beautiful! The cold throw is very good. I will test burn one tomorrow to make sure they burn good but my instinct is saying “Perfection”.

As I mentioned, I am using soy wax so the candle will burn longer and will be eco-friendly, non-toxic, long burning with less soot and the soy beans are grown right here in the USA. I am also using a hemp wick so I am wanting a fun name, something Hippy, or soy in the name or a name that is tree hugger-ish. I also would like to expand to include body butter, soap and bath salts in the near future and would make gift sets. For the most part, the soap will be all natural and will consist of Goats milk, Soya Milk, Chamomile, Hemp Oil and something fun like chocolate.

If you can name my company, I will send you an 8oz candle with the scent of your choice. I have a several scents to choose from and I will try to list them all very soon. I can even customize the color for you. I had a customer that was ‘goth’ and she wanted black candles. Where else can you get a black candle that is vanilla scented? lol
