We desperately needed a weekend getaway. We of course head to southern California everytime.
We left on Saturday morning and got to Huntington Beach at 1 or so. We hiked to the water and set up our pop up canopy. A lifesaver for my scottish white guys.

Bobby played in the water but it was too cold for Robert and I. We played in the sand and took a walk up the beach. We were there for the relaxation and we got it.

We left the beach at 4 and headed to the hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency at Newport and it was very nice. We had a balcony that had a table and chairs which overlooked the beautiful golf course. It felt like we were in the country because of the big trees and shrubs complete with squirrels and rabbits.

We left the hotel and headed to Balboa pier to watch the sunset. The pier was crowded with people there to do the same thing. We watched the sun quickly set and then we got off the pier as quickly as possible, we were freezing.

We walked to the tourist area of Newport Beach where we ate at Bay Burgers. (very good and highly recommended) We did a little shopping and Bobby bought a body board and a cool necklace. Seemed funny to buy a body board living in the desert but we try to get to cali as much as possible.

We got back to the hotel and sat on the balcony while Robert smoked his cigar and tried to convince me to have sex out there. lol Sorry Mom!
We slept with the patio door open because it was a cool night.

We got up, got ready and headed north on Pacific Coast Highway towards Hollywood. I just wanted to see that damn sign! We saw lots of cool stuff but didn’t stop because I wanted to be home before 7pm. That is going to have to be an entire vacation because there was so much to see.

We go to San Diego in July, I think Hollywood will be in August before school starts.

I will post pictures on flickr asap.
