When I was about 6 years old, Grandpa made rolling pins out of cedar for the older grandkids. I kept beggin him to make me one. He would say, “Oh Sadie, if I made you one, you wouldn’t keep it”. I told him that if he would make me one I would keep it for the rest of my life. He agreed to give me the one he was making. He died before he could finish it. I am 83 and still have the rolling pin. I have done a lot of traveling and always took the rolling pin with me. As far as I know, my cousin and I are the only one’s who kept the rolling pins. My daughter has mine, when my cousin died, her son gave her rolling pin to Michelle, my grand-daughter. She is so proud of it and keeps it hanging in her kitchen. She will someday pass it on to her daughter, Brooke.
