Daddy was in Vietnam 66-67 and made it home safely. Some of his behavior I assumed was inherited from his daddy. It was later that I learned from other children of Vietnam Vets that daddy has the same behavior as thousands of other vets.

The one that really sticks out in my mind is always having to sit facing the door or the room, occasional violent outbursts, hypersensitivity and obsessiveness.

Some of these things have trickled down to my brother and I and I’m not so sure they are genetic. I think they are more of a learned behavior. It was after I had the kids that I realized I didn’t like who I was and I had to change in order to break the cycle, I have made every painful sacrifice to insure that they do grow up differently and I did break the cycle.
