We had a spring at the foot of the hill and a few houses on the opposite hill. A girl named Dorothy lived in one of the houses that used the same spring. One day we nailed a shoe box on a big tree near the spring. Every time we went to get water we would leave a note or take a note from our friend Dorothy.
