My Granny got me interested in genealogy a few years back. It was nice because it gave us a common hobby. She was gathering family stories and pictures from relatives while I searched on the internet. She couldn’t get past her great-great grandpa but I could! She was thrilled to find out that we were direct descendants of Daniel Boone. He was my 7th or 8th great grandpa. Granny passed away May 2006. My family made sure that I got all of her notes and pictures. I came across this things the other day and it rekindled my interest.

I was researching my then fiance’s family and hit a wall with his great-great grandpa. I was fortunate because they were from the same place where we lived, so all the history was local. I got so frustrated that I told him I wasn’t going to spend any more time on them until after we were married!
