My in-laws came in this week from Oklahoma for Dad’s birthday and we surprised them with tickets to Penn & Teller. We had excellent seats, 6th row just off center.

Penn passed out several joke books and when he said ’stop’ whoever had the book was to think of a joke and he would guess what joke they were thinking about. He was debunking psychic readings. My father-in-law ended up with a book. But this time, instead of just standing up he made him go on stage and sit down. Penn asked what his name was and then said, “Dale, is it your birthday?” We still have no idea how he knew this. Then he had Dale read the joke while Penn & Teller opened an envelope and unfolded the answer. The entire audience read the punch line and then sang happy birthday to Dale. It was a blast! We laughed so hard and were truly amazed at the magic.

After the show Robert and Dale stood in line to have Penn & Teller autograph the banner with the punch line on it. Lynda and I waited at the entrance of the casino all ready to gamble! A few minutes past and we still hadn’t seen our husbands so we walked back to the theater. The people were gone and we passed Teller. Lynda asked him “Did you make our husbands dissapear” he replied with a smile, “Only if you want me to”. hehe

We had such a great time. I’d like to go back and take all the kids this summer. Penn didn’t curse during the show but he said he would be taking the Lord’s name in vain. Everytime he did I just cringed. It would have been just as funny without all of that. Sounds like I am getting old! : )

Before Penn & Teller Robert, Bobby and I took Dale & Lynda out to eat at Don Vito’s. Everyone had chicken parmesan but me. I had chicken milanese which was wonderful! After we were done I asked the waitress to bring Dale a birthday desert. She brought out a delicious chocolate cake that was decorated with strawberries and they had written ‘Happy Birthday’ in cherry sauce. mmmm mmmm
